Vice Captain is an NPC in Vigil the Longest Night. NPCs are characters that can be interacted with or are shown in the game. NPCs are characters that add contrast to the game's lore where they provide information, some are categorized as quest givers, while others are categorized as Merchants whom you can trade with or request for certain services.

Vice Captain Information
Upon entering Maye Town a cutscene will play which shows the Vice Captain trying to calm down an old woman named Tangerine whose daughter Bruna went missing several days earlier. After some bickering between Tangerine and the onlookers the Vice Captain manages to get her to leave by suggesting that Tangerine should be at home in case Bruna returns. After Tangerine finally leaves the Vice Captain greets the Vigilant, noting that the training has changed her a lot. He then asks her to assist Gate Guard in defeating The Craving Terror. Upon learning that the beast is already dead the Vice Captain asks the Vigilant to make a report to Captain Carl in his stead, which starts a side quest called Inform The Captain. The Vice Captain then leaves and is not seen again.

- The Vice Captain stays only as long as the player haven't yet spoken to Captan Carl or left Maye Town

- "The grey-furred beast with the gaping mouth? It's already dead."

- "What? By yourself?!"

- "Yes, by myself. You don't believe me?"

- "I need to recall our scouts. Can you send this message to the captain for me? He's awaiting my reply at the outpost. His office is on the second floor."
