The Lantern Keeper is an NPC in Vigil the Longest Night. NPCs are characters that can be interacted with or are shown in the game. NPCs are characters that add contrast to the game's lore where they provide information, some are categorized as quest givers, while others are categorized as Merchants whom you can trade with or request for certain services.

The Lantern Keeper Information
The Lantern Keeper is a mysterious hooded person that serves as a guide for Vigilants who undertake the Vigilant's Trial. Not much is known about them, not even their name.
The Lantern Keeper appears in front of Leila as soon as she wakes up on the Mountain Pass, and gifts her an Owl's Feather. Their next meeting happens on Maye Bridge, where the Lantern Keeper explains the meaning of the Trial to her: in order bring an end to the Longest Night Leila must complete a certain ritual by defeating the Gatekeeper and passing through the Porta Avernus, the Gate of the Dead. The third encounter happens right after Leila defeats Brood Mother. The Lantern Keeper once again reminds Leila about the Trial. Their fourth encounter takes place in front of the Ceremonial Stone Monument in the Catacombs, where the Lantern Keeper encourages Leila to proceed. The Lantern Keeper appears in front of Leila one last time after she defeats the Ancient Guard. They congratulate Leila on the completion of the Trial and say their goodbye, stating that they will never meet again.
