The Believers are a group of NPCs in Vigil the Longest Night. NPCs are characters that can be interacted with or are shown in the game. NPCs are characters that add contrast to the game's lore where they provide information, some are categorized as quest givers, while others are categorized as Merchants whom you can trade with or request for certain services.

The Believer Information
The Believers are a group of three otherwise unnamed people who can be found praying in the Shimmer Church.
The first believer is an old man who praises the Bishop and the Goddess, saying that only She can lead Maye in its battle against toe plague. He then mentions hearing that the Doctor has a cure for the plague and wonders if he should get it.
The second believer is an old woman who shares a story of how scholars and nuns of the Church saved her husband from a grave illness by pulling a Blood Shard from his belly. She believed it to be a miracle from the Goddes and decided to dedicate her life to religion - unlike her husband who believes only in the Doctor now. The believer doubts the Doctor's talents, as he could not figure out the husband's illness, and therefore could not heal him.
The third believer, who can be found on the top floor of the Church, is a young woman. She is a religious zealot who believes that only those who are firm in their belief and donate money to the Shimmer Church will be saved by the Shimmer Goddess, and everyone who does not is filthy and deserves a slow death.
The fate of the Believers in Act 3 depends on whether the player gave Sister Maggie any Potion Boxes during a side quest called Placebos. If less than two boxes were given then all Believers will disappear. If all six boxes were given then three Mutated Louse Men will be found in their place.
