The Ghost is an NPC in Vigil the Longest Night. NPCs are characters that can be interacted with or are shown in the game. NPCs are characters that add contrast to the game's lore where they provide information, some are categorized as quest givers, while others are categorized as Merchants whom you can trade with or request for certain services.

The Ghost Information

The Ghost is a spirit of Bruna. She appears before Leila when Brood Mother is defeated and urges Leila to hurry to the Cemetery, gives her Cemetery Key and Ruby Necklace, and then disappears.

Bruna was the adopted daughter of Tangerine. The two of them lived together on the edge of the village. Bruna was dating Gram and helping him take care of his sick brother Chris - a secret to literally no one in Maye Town except for Tangerine who believed that Bruna did not talk to men and, like herself, had no one but the Goddess in her heart. Her mother hated the brothers for being heathens and encouraged Bruna to spend more time with "smart people" like Daisy and the Professor.

At some point Bruna started getting suspicious of Gram's behavior and decided to investigate. Unbeknownst to her, she was one of test subject for Professor's experiments with the Crimson and Pale Red, and was chosen by him to become a sacrifice in a certain ritual. The Professor lured Bruna to the Secret Cave where he and other heathens performed the turning ritual on her. The ritual failed, turning Bruna into the monstrous Brood Mother. She was later discovered and put to rest by Dephil.
