Winter is an NPC in Vigil the Longest Night. NPCs are characters that can be interacted with or are shown in the game. NPCs are characters that add contrast to the game's lore where they provide information, some are categorized as quest givers, while others are categorized as Merchants whom you can trade with or request for certain services.

Winter Information

Winter is a Maye Guard. He was stationed in the Village after a fight with his best friend, Maye Guard Summer. Summer calls Winter "a picky son of a *****" and says that he scares easily. Winter himself says that he has a high sensitivity to unnatural things. Despite their fight Winter misses Summer a lot and regrets fighting with him in the first place.

As the game progresses Winter starts coughing and looks visibly sick, but assures Leila that he is fine and just needs to get another dose of medicine from the Doctor. After Leila collects all three Cubic Crystals Winter will ask her for a favor: the Captain sent him back to duty with Summer, so he wants Leila to tell Summer that Winter is on his way to him. For completing the quest Winter rewards the player with The Stars of R'lyeh which he found in the Flooded Area when he was searching it for survivors. He is relieved that Summer is not mad at him, and is excited to see him again after being away for so long.

In Act 3 Winter transforms into a Mutated Louse Man. If his quest was not initiated or completed in Act 2 then The Stars of R'lyeh will appear on the ground where Winter used to stand.
