Strategy Writeup

Apart from AdriAnDyloncholas, the Gnawing Beast is one of the agile bosses in the game. Luckily, it only has two kinds of attacks. This mutated rat will run towards you and leaves a trail of dark orbs that deals damage if you are caught within the blast radius and applies the curse effect. A good tactic is to bait it when it charges in, dodge roll towards it so that you'll reposition yourself behind it, and then follow up with your melee attacks. If you get caught between the orbs, make sure to stay away from before it explodes. 

Now, if you wanna use Arcane Items, Hand of Flames is good to inflict the burning status that causes its HP to slowly decay. Other than its leaping attack, it will also try to lunge at you and try to bite you. But it's just a short-range, so you can easily just avoid this if you're a couple of feet away from it. Always punish this monster by attacking it and combining Arcane Items when it charges at you. Attacking it from behind is a great advantage to beating this boss.

Attacks & Counters

• Lunging Attack: Just maintain a good distance and stay a couple of feet away from it. Use a Bow to attack it even from afar.
• Charging Attack: If the beast charges at you, dodge roll towards it to reposition yourself behind the boss. This gives you a window to punish it from behind before it tries to turn around. Although you can attack this beast from behind while it's charging in, you still need to watch out for the trail of orbs that it leaves behind. Make sure you're nowhere near it to avoid getting hit from its explosion.
