Full Maye Town Walkthrough
Intro to the area goes here.
Act 2, first(?) visit
While re-exploring Maye Town, Leila will finally meet Daisy. Daisy will ask her to speak to the Doctor in the Asylum and to give him a hand in stopping a rapidly spreading plague. Head to the second floot of the Asylum, there the Doctor will tell Leila a bit more about the Mysterious Plague and ask her to investigate one of the possible sources of the outbreak - the Flooded Area.
- Speak to Daisy on the first floor of the Asylum to start sidequests Daisy's Special and Errands. The first sidequest can be completed in the same location by speaking to Isabella, the other requires a bit of travel.
- Head outside through the western entrance. There you will find a note nailed to the wall, asking you to meet a certain someone in the Outskirts of Maye.
- A homeless man named Drew can be found in the western part of Maye Town. Speak to him and give him 10 gold to start his sidequest Homelessness.
- Speak to Drew without any money in the inventory to get the "Beg from Beggar" achievement. Make sure to do that before you start his sidequest.
- Speak to Noax in the Tavern to start her sidequest The Draft in a Bottle.
- Speak to Clay outside. He will ask Leila to find his brother, starting a sidequest called Rescue the Survivors.
- Find Hugh in the Painter's Cottage to start his quest Happy Accident.
Next location: After you're done gathering townsfolk's requests and complaints and finish looting their homes, head to the Outskirts of Maye.
Act 2, second visit; Kelpie defeated
The good Doctor can be found in his office at the Asylum. Leila reports the results of her trip to the Flooded Area. Turns out the Doctor was wrong, and the sorry state of the Flooded Area is not the cause of the plague - it continues to spread and to take more lives. The Doctor then asks Leila to investigate a recent incident in the Mine and its possible connection to the plague.
- On the first floor of the Asylum, patient Booth is now asleep. Shake his bed repeatedly until you get the Glass Heart.
- On the streets of Maye Town you will find a new face - Buffe - who wishes to sell Leila a house. Refuse the offer to get him to lower the price. After purchasing the house you can now speak to him at home to place collected decorations.
- Complete The Draft in a Bottle, then speak to Noax again after defeating Kelpie, Lord of Tide to get a Weird Puppet from her.
- Give Drew another 10 Gold to progress his sidequest Homelessness.
Next location: Now return to the Village and from there head to the Lower Mine Entrance.
Act 2, third visit; Flesh Cluster defeated
Once again Leila makes her way to the Asylum to give the Doctor a report, and once again is told that plague only continues to get worse. More people are getting sick, even more go missing. But the Doctor refuses to give up hope and asks Leila to speak to scholar Dawn in the Village. Dawn has her own theory - that the plague originates from water, specifically from a distant Bufonitte Lake.
- Miner Pierre joins Clay if he was rescued from the Mine. Sidequest Blessing from the Shimmer becomes available.
- Foreman Edward moves to the Tavern if all miners were saved. Speak to him to receive Giant Hammer and close the quest.
- The Kitchen in the Tavern is now unlocked. Sidequest Shortage of Salt becomes available.
- Give Drew another 10 Gold to progress his sidequest Homelessness.
- Fire wall that blocks the entrance to Maye Sewer can be destroyed by the Hand of Flames.
Act 2, fourth visit; Lord of the Misty Lake defeated
When Leila gives the Doctor her last report, he will ask her to fetch Daisy, who should be with Dawn.
- Speak to Drew to complete his quest Homelessness. Afterwards you can offer him an Old Coin for extra lore.
- In the Village, speak to Winter to start his sidequest Late Reconciliation.
After speaking to Daisy return to the Doctor. The Doctor wants Leila to give him three Cubic Crystals, and there Leila has four options:
- Ask to think about it. You will be able to walk away and return to the conversation later.
- (Point of no return) Agree to give Cubic Crystals to the Doctor.
- (Point of no return) Refuse to give Cubic Crystals to the Doctor.
- (Point of no return) Ignore the Doctor, go to the Top of the Giantwood and use the Cubic Crystals there by yourself.
Next location: For the detailed list of outcomes of each choice see Ancient Seal. The choice that results in the most rewards for the player is refusing to give the Crystals to the Doctor. Tell him no and leave the Asylum, outside you will find Hilda waiting for Leila. She will express her surprise about Leila's refusal, and ask Leila to meet her at the Top of the Giantwood.
Act 3
Depending on your choice at the end of Ancient Seal at the start of Act 3 you will find yourself either on the Ancient Battlefield (Peak of Weep), or in Maye Town's Asylum. There's nothing new to be found in the town. If no one in the Tavern was given a Placebo then all NPCs inside survive. Hugh moves to the basement of his cottage. Idonea's store and the smithy stay open.
Speak to Maule in the Asylum, and she will direct Leila to the Mill where other survivors are gathering. At the Mill, you will indeed find a group of survivors. Just like in Maye Town, the fate of some of them depends on certain sidequests from Act 2: Placebos, Hamilton's Jewelry, and Rescue the Survivors. Dawn will mention that the source of monster attacks appears to be Maye Hall - Leila's next destination.
- Speak to Hilda, she will admit that the situation is beyond her abilities (duh) and gift you Hilda's Hat.
- Check on Isabella. Leila doesn't want the girl to go outside and promises to find her something to play with at the Mill, starting a side quest called Recovery. Bring Isabella the Ball - it can be found underneath Maye Bridge. Speak to Isabella again, and she will gift you Little Flower Origami.
Before finally going to Maye Hall, visit the last optional location of interest - Shimmer Church. Like everywhere else, the fate of townsfolk inside depends on the state of sidequests from Act 2: Placebos and Light of the Truth.
- If you have completed sidequest the Light of the Truth then head to Bishop's Room. There you will find Key of Forbidden Library and Mysterious Manuscript x2. In the Library you will find an Arcane item called Daylight.
Next location: Now head to the Maye Hall's Workshop. From there you can enter Upper Underground Hall.
