Sword Skill Tree in Vigilant: The Longest Night is one of the weapon skill trees of the game, it features a list of skills that further upgrades Leila's capability of mastering the sword. In order to unlock a skill, players will need to obtain skill points by leveling up and to do this, Leila will need to continuously kill enemies and bosses or by completing quests. This page covers a list of all the Sword skills that are shown in the game.

Obtaining Skill Points

Acquiring Skill Points in Vigil: The Longest Night is quite straightforward, players will need to obtain EXP to Level Up which can be done by continuously killing enemies and bosses or by completing quests t. Whenever a player obtains a Skill Point, a flash of light will appear on the screen and will indicate that Leila has leveled up. You'll then acquire (1) skill point which can be used to unlock the skill they want to acquire.

Spending Skill Points

Once you've acquired a skill point, open the menu and head to the Skills interface to check the different skill trees. From there, you can apply your Skill Point to whichever Skill you want to unlock provided that you have enough Skill Points that are required as well as unlocking its prerequisite.

Can I respec my Skill Points?

Players can respec their Skill Points by speaking to the Skill Master and by offering a Fledging's Blood Soul. You can find him on Cat Isle located at the west side of the Depressing Forest.

Swordsmanship	Passive	Increases Attack when wielding a sword. Lvl I:: Attack increased by 6 Lvl II: Attack increased by 8 Lvl III: Attack increased by 10
Air Combo	Active	Allows to swing a sword two times instead of one while in the air.
Blade Drop	Active	Unlocks aerial Heavy attack for swords. To perform use a regular attack three times while in the air, or press Heavy attack button once. Leila will perform an overhead swing and immediately land, dealing damage to everything directly in front of her. Lvl I: 15% chance to stun enemies for 1 second. Lvl II: 25% chance to stun enemies for 1 second. Lvl III: 35% chance to stun enemies for 1 second.
Finishing Slash	Active	Adds a 4th swing that deals extra Poise damage to the normal attack combo. Press Attack button four times to execute. Lvl I: Deals 20 extra Poise damage. Lvl II: Deals 40 extra Poise damage.
Evading Slash	Active	Unlocks ground Heavy attack for swords. Pressing Heavy attack when Leila is about to get hit allows her to Evade incoming damage. Lvl I: Grants 0.3 Evade duration. Deals 1x damage each attack. Lvl II: Grants 0.3 Evade duration. Deals 1.2 x damage each attack.
Stepback Feint	Active	Unlocks a special sword whirlwind attack after dodging backwards. To execute, press Dodge while standing still (Leila will perform a short backstep), then press Attack button. If Leila successfully dodged enemy's attack during the backstep the next attack will deal 4 x damage and extra 50 Poise Damage.
Leap Strike	Active	Adds a 2-hit strike with 1.6x damage after executing Evading Slash. The second hit will add extra 10 poise damage. To execute Press Heavy attack button after Evading Slash.
Quick Draw	Passive	Block 0.1s faster. To block hold Special action button on the ground.
Defense Mastery	Passive	Further reduces incoming damage while blocking with a sword. Lvl I: 10% extra Block Absorption Lvl II: 15% extra Block Absorption Lvl III: 20% extra Block Absorption
Parry	Active	Grants the ability to parry with a sword. To perform, hold Block button, then press Heavy attack. Leila will parry the incoming attack, then riposte and Stun the enemy. Lvl I: Grants 0.1s counter duration, and stuns enemies for 1 second. Lvl II: Grants 0.2s counter duration, and stuns enemies for 1 second.
Execution	Active	Perform an execution on a Stunned enemy by pressing a Heavy attack in front of them while holding a sword. Deals increased damage. Lvl I: Execution deals 2 x damage. Lvl II: Execution deals 3 x damage. Lvl III: Execution deals 4 x damage.
Foresight	Active	Unlocks a "classic" sword parry. The counterattack can Stun certain enemies for 1 sec. To use, tap Block button when you're about to get hit. Leila will parry and riposte the incoming attack.
Return to Sender	Active	Unlocks the ability to parry bolts and arrows with sword attacks. To execute, press Attack button in time for the projectile to hit the sword's swing arc.
