Descendent of the Guard is a Quest in Vigil: The Longest Night. Quests are tasks given by the various NPCs in Maye, Leila can obtain unique rewards for completing these tasks. To view your progress of a quest, open the side menu, and cycle to Leila's notes.
Descendent of the Guard Objectives
- Speak to August in the Library.
- August the librarian decided to go on an adventure. Help him out by finding him.
- Trapped in the Flooded Area, give August a Healing Potion.
- Trapped in the Mine, give August a Healing Potion.
- Trapped in Bufonitte Lake, give August a bottle of Vinegar.
- Trapped in the Sewer on Estuary, give August a bottle of Vinegar.

- (Prologue) Complete side quest Glorious Guard.
- (Act 2) Head to the Library (that was previously called the Empty Library) and speak to August.
- Stock up on supplies such as x2 Healing Potion and two bottles of Vinegar.
- There are four locations where August will appear. The interactions can be completed in any order.
- Inside Sunken Queen Anne's Revenge in Flooded Area. Jump on the ledge in the first room and slide to the right to find August. He will ask for a Healing Potion.
- The Mine, you can find August at the far southwest side of the map near the moving platforms, in the room after the long ladder - give him a Healing Potion there as well.
- Bufonitte Lake, August be at the east end of the map near D6 Owl Statue - give August a bottle of Vinegar when you see him.
- Sewer on Estuary. Slide into right wall of Gnawing Beast's arena and keep moving, you won't miss him. August will ask for a bottle of Vinegar.
- Once you've helped him out in four different locations, head back to the Library and speak to him to close the quest and to claim your reward which is the Guard's Blade.
Descendent of the Guard Notes, Tips, and Trivia
- The reason the quest becomes unavailable if Glorious Guard is not completed is that August is a descendant of Duran and Isabella.
- Equipping the Guard's Blade with the Rose Ring adds +15 Attack.

can´t find him anywhere, not in the libray, and i dont have the quest in notes... T.T

Found him in the flooded town, the lake, and then the sewers. Still can’t find him in the mine at the location he’s said to be even though it should be the last location.

I've been exploring the moving platform area in mine (red area in map) but still nowhere to find him

I can't find him in the sewers. I've found him in all the other locations, but no sign of him in the sewers. Any help?

Where's his location in mine? I couldn't find him. And where can I get antidote?

I couldn't find him in sunken mary rose. There are only 2 sunken mary rose entrances. one with save point and one with hand of glory, but couldn't find August. Help?

The information about the Flooded Area is wrong and should be changed. August is actually in the Sunken Queen Anne's Revenge, near the chest with the chandelier, not in either of the Sunken Mary Rose locations. I spent 20 minutes searching before I tried other locations.
First of all, this quest isn’t available if you haven’t completed the guard quest from the first dimension. Secondly, can confirm this is a cross platform bug regarding August in the mines—my best bet is to find him in the “correct” order: flooded area, mines, lake, sewer.
